- Once your item is full dried it is dipped in a clear glaze and kiln fired at 1000 degrees making it beautifully finished and fully food safe. - Items are then bubble wrapped and packaged. - Finally, we will send you a text message to let you know that your creation is ready to collect! The whole process takes between 7-10 days but we will advise you of current turn around times at the end of your visit.
How does it work?
- Choose your pottery from our large, varied selection and take it to your table. - One of our team will talk you through the process and share our top tips to help you create your perfect design. - Paint your item however you like using our beautiful glazes and tools. - Bring your finished piece to the counter where we will label it ready to be kiln fired.
Is my pottery dishwasher safe?
Yes! Our glazes are OK to go in the dishwasher, however we always recommend hand-washing your items to prolong their lives.
Do you do baby hand/foot prints?
100% yes! We absolutely love meeting your babies and helping you create some beautiful keepsakes that will be cherished forever. If there is something specific you want our help with, we recommend popping a note on the booking or giving us a call so that we can ensure that we have a print specialist available to help you get that perfect print.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Well behaved dogs are very welcome and we have water bowls available for them. They can even join in on the fun with some paw-printing on pottery too.
Can we bring our own food and drink?
We ask that you please refrain from bringing your own food and drinks into our studio. We have our own cafe offering delicious hot and cold drinks, cakes and a small menu of hot food at really reasonable prices. We are a small business who very much appreciate every purchase you make.
What age is pottery painting suitable for?
Pottery painting is suitable for all ages and abilities. At Paint Pots we welcome babies right up to age 99 and beyond. Our adult evening is for ages 18+ and all of our workshops are advertised with the appropriate age mentioned.
I am on holiday/only here for one day!
Don't worry! Book a table and come along to the studio. A member of our team will talk with you about either express kilning or postage for your items.
Can I buy gift vouchers?
Yes! Gift cards are available in any amount and can be purchased either in the studio or from our website. Click here to purchase.
How long does it take?
A standard painting session is two hours, depending on what you paint you may not need the full amount of time, however the table is yours for the time slot so you have plenty of time to enjoy some food and drinks from our cafe too. Your item will be ready for collection from the studio 7-10 days after painting. If you need an item sooner then please ask a member of the team about our new Express Kilning service.
Do I need to book in advance?
You do not always need to book a table during the week in school term time, however we do recommend it to ensure there is a table for you. At the weekends and during school holidays then booking is essential. Booking is also essential for all our workshops and adult evenings.
How much does it cost?
We do not charge a studio fee! The prices you see on the shelf are the price you pay - This cost includes the painting session, glazing and kiln firing. We have a huge selection of items to paint starting at just £3.50!
